Out of the Mint Zone!

04/03/09 – 4,159

Good morning Mintdom!

Yesterday was an Ok day as far as steps go, although, I have almost achieved 4,000 steps already this morning.  It is good to be back to walking after a two day break.  I do not love getting up, but I DO love how it makes me feel when I do.  I even slept in this morning until 6:00 am – Yahoo!

Yesterday was a GREAT day for stepping out of my ‘mint’ zone*.  It was a GREAT day for building my confidence.  It was a GREAT day for learning and stretching.  Yesterday I gave my Icebreaker speech for my Toastmasters group.  It was five minutes and 20 seconds of terror – LOL!  Giving a speech is difficult even to a small group of people that are doing the same thing and are supportive and encouraging. I think the most difficult part of it was to try to get everything I wanted to say, when there is a timer going.

“Every great achievement is a victory of a flaming heart.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Every great achievement is a victory of an awesome support group too and I want to thank all of you that listened to my rehearsals and/or gave me so many encouragements that enabled me to get my first speech under my belt.  In addition, I want to thank my evaluator and members of my group for the comments I received, and for being so thoughtful and generous.

What accomplishment would you most like to celebrate by the end of the day?  I know that all of Mintdom would love to give you encouragement if you would like to share your goals for the day here.

AffirMINTion: I accomplish the goals that I set.

Make it a GREAT day, IF you choose to.

Life is good!

  1. Thanks for the clarification of Mint zone 🙂 I heaard you rocked yesterday – I think you need to video your speach and post it – so everyone can really get to know The Mint – you go girl!

  2. Don’t you think it’s OK to give yourself two days a week not to make your goal, otherwise known as ‘OFF’ days? So rather than saying you didn’t make your goal you can count it towards your two day quota of being off!! 🙂 I like that idea and it gives your body a break. Plus you may find the rest of the week your up to 7,000 or even a 8,000 step day. You are an inspiration! Hey – what’d I miss regarding Lionel Richie? – MS

    1. I love you Michelle! You are such an encouragement! Do you have FOMO? LOL… j/k I don’t know who that guy is, but I like what he wrote!
