Good morning Mintdom
I am pedoMINTerless for the next couple of days. Yikes! I feel naked without it, and honestly my steps, especially my extra steps seem pointless. Of course, that is false. Every step I make, whether I count it or not moves me closer to my 10,000 step-a-day goal. I need to remind myself that it is the intentional moving, and not the counting that is important. I was at the pool for two hours yesterday, and treaded water and used the pool weights for an hour. As easy as it was, I can feel it this morning. That is a good thing.
“The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough.”
– Rabindranath Tagore
Our most precious commodity in this life is time. We all have the same amount in a day. We do not have the same amount in our life, and we do not know how much we have. When someone dies, time seems to get bigger and more important, because we see its finality. I know that it is that way for me. I know I think and talk about how I need to make every minute count, and I need to make every moment count, but it is embarrassing that it lasts for such a short time before it goes on a back burner again.
For a long while, I kept a gratitude/celebration journal. Every morning, I would write at least three things that made me smile or celebrate. Today, I recommit to writing those three things. And just for today, I will write them on the front page. In the future, they will go on the Gratitude/Celebration Mints page or in my little journal at home. Please feel free to share your smiles and celebrations here too.
1. I am grateful that I have such wise and loving parents.
2. I am grateful for my sisters and brothers and their spouses who surround me with love and laughter.
3. I am grateful for my friends who never hesitate to step up to the plate.
“We only have 24-hours in a day, how do you want to spend them?”
– J Robert Brouse (my dad)
AffirMINTion: I choose to spend my time with those that I love and making every minute count.
Make it a GREAT day, IF you choose to.
Life is good!
PS I am attending a funeral tomorrow so Mintdom will be late.
