Good morning Mintdom!

I cannot tell you how nice it is to have my pedometer back!  I swear it is like a part of me now – a very nice part of me. I am going to go to the pool today.  I only have a couple of weeks left of that.  I enjoyed going so much this summer.  I got in some good exercise and best of all I made some nice friends.  I remember the debate that I had with myself at the beginning of the summer about going to the pool.  I had not been in a bathing suit in public for at least 20 years because of the way I looked. Obviously, I decided to take the plunge, and I am so happy that I did! At first, I would lay my towel down on the lounge, and take off my shorts as I sat, and then take off my t-shirt.  Of course, I sat on the lounge that was closest to the stairs so I would not have to walk around the pool – it did not matter that I was not in the best place for the sun.  I just alternated sides of the pool!  I laugh at myself now when I think about it.  I was so worried that EVERYONE was watching me.

Here is a picture of my pool on a normal day.  Oh brother – the EVERYONE that I worried about are at home! LOL! Seriously, there people do come to the pool, but it is VERY crowded when there are 20 people there.  Still, there was a time when I STILL would not have braved the pool in a swimsuit.  Here is the other kicker – I cannot tell you how many compliments that I received this summer on my swimsuits!  <Shaking head and laughing> Not only that, but I ended up with a new confidence, new friends, another form of exercise and a GREAT tan.

How did I get the nerve to do this?  A couple of things helped me.  I am blessed with family and friends who are always encouraging me and this winter I took an online class that really helped change my thinking called “What’s My Purpose Life Mastery Course” by Dr. Jim White.  Honestly, it changed my life, and I know it can change yours, if you are willing to do the work.  It is a lot of work.  It has a cost, but if you sign up early, it is less then $150, and if you REALLY cannot afford that, Dr. White offers scholarships.  It is truly an amazing course. If you are interested, here is a link to sign up www.tinyurl.com/LiveOnPurpose and be prepared to do some really good work with the most important person in your life – YOU!

“You have to have confidence in your ability, and then be tough enough to follow through.” -Rosalynn Smith Carter

I rather disagree with Mrs. Carter’s quote.  I believe that when you truly have confidence in your ability, you WILL be tough enough to follow through. That is just my opinion.

AffirMINTion:  I have confidence in my abilities, and I follow through to achieve my goals.

Tomorrow, I have a Toastmasters speech to do, and I will be leaving Mintdom too early to write, but I will be back on Tuesday.  Now, I am off to the pool!

Make it a GREAT day, IF you choose to.

Life is good!
