Good morning Mintdom,
I had plans on Saturday to meet friends at the pool, but I woke up sick and so ended up staying in bed most of the day. I felt better yesterday, and today, I feel good – just a little stuffy.
This week, I am going to finally having that colonoscopy. It is part of taking care of my health. I know it is no big deal and I am not nervous about it, but I decided it was time to fill out my advance directive (Living Will) that has been sitting on my counter since September. I do not know exactly why it has taken me so long to fill them out – maybe it is that Terri Shiavo story. I do not know if you remember her, but she was in a coma for years and her husband and parents fought about when/if to end life. You can read her story here http://www.terrisfight.org/ . I think that I did not have the words to say in my directive that if one person in my family wanted me wanted to continue life support – they would. This morning I realized that, that would only place a burden on that one person, and I do not want that, therefore I realized the best thing to do was to just to sign as it as written. That is the whole point of the Living Will – to take away the burden from my family. Anyway, I finally signed the – yeah!
The fear of death follows from the fear of life.
A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.
~ Mark Twain ~
I realize that the subject of death is not best way to start your day, but it is a part of life. It is a part of life that we do not like to talk or even think about, but trust me, the better prepared we are, the less we will have to think about it! Do you have an Advance Directive? Good for you if you do and if you do not, seriously give it some consideration. Read Terri Shiavo’s story if you need a little nudge. I will tell you that do not fear death; the death part is easy. What I DO fear is HOW I am going to die. I do not suffer well, and suffering ruins your makeup. LOL!
AffirMINTion: I am prepared to live life to the fullest!
Make it a GREAT day, IF you choose to.
Life is good!
PS Yesterday, was my sister-in-law, Kathleen’s birthday. I just have to say that Kathleen is a special person. Kathleen’s little family have been through a lot over the years when it comes to health. I have to say how much I admire Kathleen. She is tenacious about finding solutions and trying them. She is beautiful, smart, sensitive, and devoted to God and her family. I hope you had a GREAT day yesterday, Kathleen. I love you xoxo
