37 Days

January 11, 2013

Good morning Mintdom!

I have been thinking about a book that I read last year, ‘Life is a Verb: 37 Days to Wake up, Be Mindful, and Live Intentionally by Patti Digh. The question that the author asks, “What would I be doing today, if I only had thirty-seven days to live?” This was the case with her stepfather. I think that book came to mind because my youngest daughter had a small surgery (not that any surgery is small) yesterday. All went well and she is home resting, still I was reminded of her mortality as well as my own and that of my family and friends. It is a reminder to live my life to the fullest. We ALL live with a deadline (pardon the pun); however, we normally do not know what that deadline is

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” – Steve Jobs

So why not live as if we only have 37 days to live. That time WILL come at some point; it will come and go most likely without our knowledge. How do we want to live your lives? This question becomes more urgent if there is a time limit doesn’t it.  I am grateful for the reminder to be intentional in my living and to love more, laugh more (for those who know me that would be a feat!), work hard and play harder. I probably will not be the big impact that Steve Jobs had; however, I believe we can all make a positive impact in at least, our little world.

AffirMINTion: I live an intentional life and have fun doing it!

Make it a GREAT day, IF you choose to.

What are you waiting for?

Life is good!
