Still PedoMINTerless
Good morning Mintdom,
I have a question for you today. There is an acronym for the word FEAR, which I do not quite understand: False Evidence that Appears Real. I understand part of it as far as having a fear of losing your job, losing your spouse or loved one, losing your health, or losing your child; however, what if one of those things DOES happen in your world? Isn’t that Real Evidence?
What do you do when you are facing one of these things? To me, this acronym is not helpful when I am facing something as serious as an illness in a loved one or myself. I love. So what DOES help? I am fortunate to have a strong faith in God, that everything happens for a reason and that He is always for me, even when I cannot possibly see it. I know that He sees around the corners. The other thing that helps is to have the love and support of my family and friends, especially if you have that one person that you can talk with about anything. The last thing that I know can help my fear, whether it is a false fear or not, is to have a plan. Included in the plan is to keep putting one foot in front of the other; to immerse myself in positive people, places and thing; and to take special care of my body, mind, and spirit.
“The more serious the illness, the more important it is for you to fight back, mobilizing all your resources – spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical. – Norman Cousins
My question today, is not so much about the acronym; it is about what you do when facing something serious. I would love for you to post your answers here or on www.Mintdom.com, you will be helping me and others.
